Boiler Pressure Plant (BPP)

This policy is designed to cover operational boilers and pressure plants installed in industry against risks of accidental explosions/ implosions for whatsoever cause (unless specifically excluded). This operational insurance is applicable after successful erection, testing, commissioning of the boilers which have already been put into use for commercial application.

Since explosion/ implosion risks to the boiler and pressure plant ( as defined in IBR ) is an excluded risk under SFSP policy, taking a BPP policy is essential for getting comprehensive plant coverage. Given that boiler and pressure plant units are generally prone to explosion/ implosion risk on a day-to-day basis, this policy is vital.

Features

  • Issued on RIV basis, where sum insured is declared in line with the replacement value of the particular boiler (as on the date of taking insurance which would be verified in the event of a loss).
  • Physical reinstatement of damaged items should be undertaken after loss. All replacement bills, payment particulars etc. need to be produced for claim settlement.
  • For partial damages and non-limited life items, no deductions towards depreciation would be applied.
